Dagens citat

"I watch the Pakistani news, mainly to see if they've included Iceland on their world map. The anchor is a ball of hair: hair all over Europe and Greenland. I wait for him to bend his head a little. Iceland isn't there. That's the deal with Iceland. Iceland is the kind of country that sometimes is there and sometimes isn't. Depending on the mood of whatever graphic artist happens to be on duty that day. Whether he can be bothered drawing in that island up there on his transparency sheet, in the sweaty offices of an advertising agency in the centre of Karachi, with his fax machine still broken down and just two weeks after his girlfriend dumped him. Which is probably why the map has that spunky look. I'm not enough of a patriot to complain. It's comforting, somehow, to live on an island that doesn't appear on the map of the world. Invisible. We're not there. We're just watching, but no one can see us."
