"I have a background as a historian so I am fascinated by Thingvellir, close to Reykjavik, which is a site of so many aspects of Icelandic history. That’s where the parliament was founded and where Christianity was adopted around the year 1000. It is a touristy place but a beautiful one. The Reykholt in Borgarfjordur, in western Iceland, is another site I love. There is a farm there and a church and library."
